Work with your own TikTok account
Connect the account you control, review your original video and choose its delivery. This guide explains account connection, review and confirmation of each release.
TikTok approved Direct Post on October 16, 2026. Connect your account, review the exact content and current options, then confirm each release. You can also deliver manually through TikTok Studio.
1. Enter the right brand
Use your own OCC account. If you received a client invitation, open the original private link, use its recipient email, review the brand and accept the agency's proposed scope. Then open your brand. You do not need to share your TikTok password with the agency or support.
2. Connect and check your TikTok account
- Open Channels → Accounts and destinations in your brand and choose Connect for TikTok. The brand owner manages connections; contact support if that action is unavailable to your role.
- On TikTok's authorization screen, check the account and permissions before accepting. OCC requests basic account identification and permission to publish the video you confirm. Optional statistics require video.list and user.info.stats. Sending native drafts requires video.upload; you finish editing and publishing in TikTok. Each feature requires its own account permission.
- When you return to OCC, verify the connected account. Test connection performs a connection check; it does not publish. If the account is wrong, reconnect with the correct account before preparing a release.
3. Prepare your original video
- If you already have a video draft in the calendar, open it in Ideas. Otherwise, open Channels and monthly quantities, enable your TikTok destination and choose a video quantity for the month. Save the targets, then use Complete this month's calendar and View calendar. This adds drafts; it does not publish anything.
- In Your original video, upload a vertical MP4 or MOV that you created or are authorized to share. OCC analyzes the actual file. Play it, edit its title and caption, and confirm you reviewed all of the accompanying text before saving.
- Approve the idea to move it to Production. Review the uploaded video and approve the material to move it to Final. Replacing the video sends it back to Ideas and requires review again. These approvals do not authorize a post.
4. Review your video and posting choices
Open your approved video piece in the calendar's Final stage. Play the original video, check its cover and edit the TikTok caption if needed. Changes must be reviewed before release. Choose TikTok in the destination panel to see the connected creator's current information and options.
- Check the creator's name and video duration. If the account cannot post or the video exceeds its limit, stop and resolve that condition.
- Select privacy yourself. Comments, Duet and Stitch start off; controls unavailable for that account remain disabled.
- If the video promotes a business, enable commercial disclosure and identify your own brand, a third party, or both. The screen explains the resulting label. Third-party branded content cannot be private.
- Label realistic AI-generated or substantially AI-edited images, audio or video as AI-generated. Review the linked music policy and, when applicable, the branded content policy before consenting.
These controls are available to review a connected account's options. Sending requires environment enablement, the account's video.publish grant and a separate confirmation of the exact piece.
5. Confirm release or deliver manually
For Direct Post, open the approved piece in Final, review the exact account, media, text and privacy, accept the applicable policies and choose Publish now or Schedule. Confirm the final dialog only for this piece. OCC checks the approved content and account again before the scheduled upload. Photo posts allow 1–35 images, a title, description, cover photo and an explicit choice about recommended music. OCC exports JPEGs without cropping, up to 1080 pixels. Video covers use a frame timestamp.
- In the TikTok delivery panel, download the approved video and copy the approved caption. Download the prepared cover if one is available.
- Open TikTok Studio and check the account. Upload the video, paste the caption and review its privacy, interaction, commercial and AI settings.
- In Edit cover, upload the prepared cover or select a clear frame. Save it and check the profile preview so its title is readable.
- Confirm publication only when you have reviewed the piece and intend to post it. TikTok may take a few minutes to process the video. Check the result in TikTok; the manual action does not automatically update the publication state in OCC.
6. Optional basic statistics
In Channels → Accounts and destinations → TikTok, choose Results. If the required permissions are not yet approved or your account has not granted them, OCC explains that limit instead of showing invented numbers. After approval, choose the statistics connection and review TikTok's consent screen. Results shows profile totals and a paginated list of your own public videos with views, likes, comment counts and shares. It does not read private messages or the text of comments.
7. Finish editing in TikTok
When the native draft permission is approved and granted by your account, open an approved piece in Final and choose Finish editing in TikTok. Review the exact account, media and caption, then prepare the delivery. Preparing does not send anything: a separate confirmation sends the selected media to your TikTok inbox so you can finish editing and publish in TikTok. A video draft transfers only the file, so copy the caption from OCC. Inbox delivery does not mark a piece as published in OCC.
Your permissions and data
You can revoke OCC's access from Channels, confirming the exact account, or from your TikTok account settings. To request deletion of data retained in OCC, contact support from your OCC account email. Removing platform permissions and deleting stored OCC data are separate actions; neither deletes posts already on TikTok.
